It is a peninsula that extends out into the bay. This is located at the end of Point Brown, just to the right of the marina. If prepared my hike becomes a pleasant exploration with a typical haul of 20-30 agates and other awesome beach stones, sea shells and beach glass! Enjoy
The wind can make it uncomfortable so be prepared. So, I wear rubber boots, a good sweat shirt or coat with hood. There are typically very few people out there and the presence of God is tangible! You really have to prepare for the elements. I go just before or after low tide and just after sunrise. I usually stay on the south westward side of the beach. You can find the agates anywhere on Damon Point but I've found the best place is almost all the way out at about the 2 mile point where all the gravel beds become prevalent. Some may go for the birds but I go for the agates and the red Orbicular Jasper that is found only in the Pacific Northwest. This is the beach that I have found my collection of agates. I manage a rental house four miles away right on the jetty so we're out there often. I've been walking out on Damon Point for years.
